Capgemini use the e-CF as a common language in workforce transformation projects. The company sets up and complements professional profiles in a specific area of expertise and links them to market standards. These new profiles comprise of e-competences, personal competences and business competences. Development opportunities, training courses and certifications are selected and combined with these competences. After workforce transformation, IT Professionals are aware of their competences and how to develop them. IT companies benefit by labour mobility, development paths, curricula design, control on projects and budgets.

“New fields of expertise such as ICT and applied technologies are becoming more mature and require professionalism. As ICT workers grow in their profession, it is expected that their area of expertise will include deep skills. They need e-competences as covered by the e-CF but also specific personal and business competences. This development pattern makes the ICT professional better rounded and more valuable to their client and their organization.”

Moreover, as CEO of SoftNet Group, I think the e-CF will help in putting order in the process of assessing and selecting appropriate candidates for the corresponding ICT activities”.

“Especially in the ICT sector, the continuous updating of knowledge, skills and competences of employees according to the fast-moving developments of the market and its technologies are essential for survival. For this reason, the Deutsche Telekom highly welcomed the European initiative for developing a common ICT sector Framework and we were glad to contribute to the experts’ work. From our perspective, the European e-Competence Framework as it looks today with its 40 competences organised by 5 competence areas the industry is familiar with and related to the EQF provides an essential basis for a successful sector framework. A great leap forward which will hopefully be confirmed by Europe-wide appreciation and use.”
