IT Professionalism Europe (ITPE) is a network of stakeholders committed to the advancement of IT professionalism. The network includes public and private sector experts from critical IT domains, including policy, standards, HR and IT management, as well as education, training and other service providers that support IT professionalism. We work closely with key public actors, from the European Commission, the European Parliament, CEN and National Standards Bodies, and Member States.

ITPE has set up expert groups on Digital Competence and Professional Ethics, each held twice a year, which provides regular networking opportunities and possibilities to exchange best practice for our members. We curate and update a repository of content related to IT professionalism, send monthly news updates and proactively advocate for the promotion of IT professionalism.

ITPE is an initiative of CEPIS – Council of European Professional Informatics Societies and ICDL Foundation.

ITPE Vision

The ITPE vision is of a competent and careful European IT workforce showing technical excellence as well as full understanding of the moral and ethical aspects in their job roles. At the same time, we strive for the development of a recognised and respected IT profession.

ITPE Mission

The ITPE mission is to host and stimulate discussion, partnership and action among stakeholders to further the establishment of a mature IT profession.

ITPE Goal

ITPE will build support by providing a robust platform which raises the status of the IT profession, and by 2025, ITPE will be the primary forum for collaboration and discussion among stakeholders in IT professionalism, with support from all sectors and all European countries.
