Cisco has released its ‘2020 Global Networking Trends Report’, which highlights a need to simplify management of IT networks in businesses to keep up with the rapid changes and updates of IT systems. The findings, based on a survey of over 2,000 IT leaders, asked how they intend to manage their own networks for the future. According to the latest figures, over 60% of enterprises will have networking as core to their digital strategies by 2023, and half of all workloads will be run outside the enterprise data centre by 2021 in cloud and data centre infrastructures.
The report also shares Cisco’s own ‘digital readiness model’, which may be used by IT organisations to assess network readiness in categories such as architecture, access, assurance, network and security.
