The European Commission has published ‘The changing nature of work and skills in the digital age’, which provides new insights on the interplay between automation, jobs and work organisation and its impact on skills in the EU.
It highlights that new technologies do not simply just create or destroy jobs but also change people’s job roles, which means that individuals will increasingly have to leverage their ‘human advantage’, by acquiring skills that help them to adapt and learn in ever-changing workplaces. The report uses the most recent scientific evidence available along with original research from the JRC (Joint Research Centre).
