Dr Attard is a lecturer and researcher at the Faculty of ICT (FICT) at the University of Malta and also the Deputy Dean of the same Faculty. He is the lead researcher of a project funded through RIDT and industry on pervasive electronic monitoring in healthcare PEM.  Before becoming a lecturer, he worked for 10 years supporting the IT infrastructure at Malta International airport and he also managed several organisations SME IT solutions including their infrastructure and developing solutions they would need.  He also takes the initiative to organise events such as the final year project (FYP) events, researchers talks, and other various STEM events highlighting the faculty’s work. He has taken part in various panels discussing ICT, digital health, and science. His main research areas are digital health, mobile computing, and enterprise IT planning particularly the way they are adopted at the workplace. In 2010, I was appointed educational officer for IEEE, later vice-chair, and 2016 elected Chair of IEEE Malta association till 2020. As chair of IEEE Malta my first commitment was to set up a VO of the organisation locally. Today he is the Chair of IEEE Malta Computer Society. Recently was nominated Chair of IEEE Region 8 Professional and Education activities subcommittee PEASC. As chair of PEASC Dr Attard leads an international team that is responsible for 11 STEM programs that reach out to over 134,000 IEEE members from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
