The second ITPE Professional Ethics Expert Group meeting took place on 26 September 2019 in Brussels.
The meeting began with an update from the European Commission by André Richier of DG GROW, who provided an overview of recent developments in light of the new European Commission’s priorities.
The meeting also covered IT professional ethics in Spain and the Netherlands, with Juan Pablo Peñarrubia (CCII) and Daniel Tijink, representing Dutch ICT think tank, ECP, outlining the recent developments. Anna Jobin (ETH Zurich) presented the new research on AI ethics guidelines in an international scope. Isaac Gil Rabadán and Montaña Rodriguez-Ovejero of SATEC, explained how their company is currently implementing ethics in their business. The session also included the latest updates from CEN TC 428 Chair, Mary Cleary, on the group’s ongoing activities related to the topic.
