Jakub Kajtman

Policy officer, DG Connect, European Commission
Jakub is a member of the digital skills team in DG Connect. He contributes to the activities and coordination of the Digital Skills and Jobs Coalition and of EU Code Week. During the coronavirus lockdown in Spring 2020, he helped to organise a series of webinars to encourage exchange of good practices, experience and success stories within the digital skills and jobs community, in particular between the National coalitions. Building up on this experience, the team in DG Connect is building a new Digital Skills and Jobs Platform that will become an online one-stop shop with information, data, funding and networking opportunities for anyone interested in the topic. The aim is to connect all the National coalitions and other stakeholders to this Platform to help them take and coordinate actions that will bridge the digital skills gap in Europe.
Jakub has a broad experience in community management and communication. He studied Political science at the Charles University in Prague. He worked for the main Czech TV news channel (CT24) as a reporter. He joined the European Commission in 2014 and he built an active and engaged social media community around the Digital Single Market. In 2018 he joined the digital skills team where he contributes to the policy actions and is the Commission’s country desk for digital economy in the Czech republic.
